Abstract

The article is devoted to the psychological and pedagogical support of the adaptation of younger students to schooling and its experimental research. The age characteristics of students are considered, the meaning and role of educational activity are analyzed. Children with excessive anxiety experience long-term high stress when adapting to school. The influence of cognitive and social motivation, as well as school anxiety on the process of adaptation to schooling, was experimentally revealed. The experiment was carried out in three stages, at the ascertaining stage of the experiment, cognitive abilities, the level of social motives and the level of school anxiety were determined using a special method. The results of the diagnosis of motivation and school anxiety were presented in the table, according to these data, a program was developed. At the formative stage of the experiment, a specially developed program for adaptation to school was used, and its effectiveness was tested at the control stage
