Abstract
The article analyses the problem of parent-child relations as the basis for the harmonious development of the child's personality on the base of experimental study of mothers (35 kyrgyz families). In the experiment we applied methods that study parent-child relationships. As a result of the study, we found that most parents use pathological types of upbringing in the family. According to the Varga-Stolin test the overwhelming majority of parents showed high scores on the "Authoritarian hyperprotection" scale. This means that parents devote a lot of attention and time to their children, but without providing them emotional support, they do not take into account his needs in dialogue with parents and periodically use punishment as the main method in upbringing. The results of the PARI study show that the parents are dominated by the positions of suppression of will, dependence on the family, a sense of sacrifice, partnership relations, the desire to accelerate the development of the child, the equation of relationships, strong interference in the child's space and avoidance of conflicts
