Аннотация
Являясь важной частью словарной системы языка, приветствия могут отражать гендерные различия. Растет дискуссия о том, следует ли использовать слово «сэр» по отношению к респектабельной и образованной женщине. С позиций социолингвистики автор рассматривает словари разных периодов, а также методами диахронического сравнения и анализа семантического поля исследует причины, по которым некоторые женщины считают слово «сэр» неуместным с женской точки зрения
