Abstract

The article deals with the scientific and pedagogical foundations of knowledge formation in the field of environmental education and the introduction of environmental culture in the educational process as effective means of solving educational and upbringing tasks that contribute to the activation and improvement of the educational process in higher education. It also shows the analysis of the results of the questionnaire survey of first-year students in the direction of "Physical Education and Sports" and gives recommendations for the successful work of teaching staff on the formation of environmental competence of students
