Abstract
The relevance of the research topic lies in the fact that in the process of teaching students foreign languages it is necessary to take into account their personal needs, interests and peculiarities of their development. In the process of organizing the educational process, it is important to identify the needs and abilities of each student in order for learning to become accessible and interesting for him. Working with gifted students requires the implementation of a personality-oriented approach. Lexical competence is the basis for the formation of foreign language communication skills. During its formation, the speech development of students is of particular importance. Therefore, when teaching foreign language vocabulary, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the development of linguistically gifted students and competently select the necessary educational material at each stage of the formation of foreign language lexical competence
