Abstract
Decategorization is an important way of thinking innovation and cognitive mechanism, and together with traditional categorization, it constitutes a complete categorization process. As a kind of linguistic variation, Chinese network euphemism is closely related to the cognitive process of human categorization, and its variation can be explained from the perspective of decategorization theory. The motivation of Chinese network euphemism can be explained from both internal and external causes, and the fundamental motivation is the needs of human cognition and practical communication
