Abstract
The article discusses the prerequisites for organizing project activities with elementary school students, defines the project method, describes the goals, objectives, system of methods application, the results achieved and approaches to the organization of project activities with elementary school students. Elementary school is not only the beginning of systemic education and upbringing of the younger generation, but also its foundation. At the same time, in the elementary school a child lacks basic skills such as reading, writing, counting, listening and speaking. However, a student finishing elementary school needs certain thinking skills and personal qualities for further learning activities: the ability to analyze, compare, highlight, solve problems, give a fair assessment of himself, be responsible, independent, invent (discover new things) and work together with others as necessary qualities of a modern schoolchild
