Abstract

The article considers and compares the meanings of congratulations in Kyrgyz and English. In humanity, "congratulations" are closely related to the expression of wishes for good and health. Congratulations are intended to cheer up the recipient. Greeting is a category of ethics, which is primarily contained in human relations, in human activity. In the concept of good, people express their most common interests, aspirations, desires and hopes for the future. According to modern explanatory dictionaries, a greeting is defined, firstly, as a greeting associated with something joyful, pleasant, and secondly, as a text containing such a greeting. Differences and common features between “congratulations” in English and Kyrgyz languages are determined by the mentality, national traditions, social sphere, and culture of both peoples
