Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of developing the translation competence of students in the field of translation studies. The subject of the research is translation competence. The needs in building translation competence among the students of translation studies of higher education institutions have been identified. We have analyzed the theoretical foundations of developing the translation competence of students in their foreign language studies. Ways, forms and methods of practical implementation of a number of didactic principles are also considered. As a result, the development of translation skills and abilities of translation students is based on the need to adhere to such traditional didactic principles as scholarship, conscientiousness, consistency, accessibility and expressiveness
