Abstract
This article deals with both psychological aspects of underachieving students. At present, the problem of poor progress is becoming the most relevant, since there are objective and subjective prerequisites for this, which are a consequence of socio-economic transformations in the post-Soviet space. Therefore, teachers need to be sympathetic to the problems of underachieving students, support them, help, show a special attitude towards them.
