Abstract

The article reveals the actual problem of assessing the competencies of students' academic independent activity in universities, and offers a list of competencies that characterize it.  The author substantiate the importance of competence assessment as a means of improving the quality of education and offer a number of tools for its implementation, and note that an important aspect of competence assessment is the choice of criteria based on which the assessment will be carried out
