Abstract
The article shows the way of development of the legislation on elections in the Kyrgyz Republic (1991-2010). The stages of its development are highlighted, a brief analysis of the formation of electoral legislation is given, where its history is also considered. The tendencies of the legal regulation of elections at different stages of its reform are revealed, the strengths and weaknesses of the electoral process are noted, in particular, humanization, expressed in the expansion of the list of guarantees for citizens to exercise their electoral rights, strengthening of the anti-corruption orientation of election laws
