Abstract
The article reveals the content of the concept of electoral law in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. The author examines the aspects of the content of universal suffrage under the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the institution of elections, the set of legal norms governing the organization and conduct of elections and referendums in the Kyrgyz Republic. The stages of its development are highlighted, a brief analysis of the formation of electoral legislation is given, where its history is also considered. The tendencies of the legal regulation of elections at different stages of its reform are revealed, advantages and disadvantages are noted
