Abstract
Phonetic laws help to identify special cases that motivate and condition phonetic development, reveal the patterns of development of the phonetic system, the relationship between sounds and their transformations. In turn, when identifying the patterns of phonetic development, it is necessary not only to observe sound changes, but also to identify specific cases that motivate phonetic development and cause it. The following phonetic phenomena influenced the development and formation of the subsystem of long vowels in the Kyrgyz language: 1) the principle of economy of speech effort, 2) the principle of weakening, 3) the principle of fusion, 4) the principle of erasure (disappearance). Each phonetic change is a multifaceted phenomenon caused by physical, psychological and social factors
