Abstract

The article is devoted to the actual topic of using neologisms in the speech of modern youth. It also gives some insight into the history of the penetration of neologisms into the Russian language in different eras. Wide use of neologisms is observed mainly in the following periods: during the development of various religious, cultural, trade and economic ties with other states, during the Tatar-Mongol invasion, in the Peter’ era, as well as in the modern history of the 21st century. Words – neologisms which appeared in Russian language at different times are given as examples. The aim of this article is to show the reasons of active use of neologisms by young people. Authors suggest some measures to preserve the purity and originality of the Russian language. The article is intended for teachers, as well as for those who are interested in the development of the Russian language
