Abstract
In this article, the authors reveal the features of using new media technologies in China. The study used the historical and comparative method. The authors dwelled in detail on the scientific definition of the concept of "new media". The article examines the history of the development of new media in China and the reasons for the popularity of current social networks and short video applications. It also analyzes the scale and growth of the new media market in China, and determines the characteristics of the graphic form, video format and web broadcast form in new media content. As a result, the authors proved with facts that new media are playing an increasingly important role in solving social problems in China. Its main application characteristics include many aspects, such as diversification, compatibility, flexibility, individuality and integration
