The article examines the phased implementation of financial autonomy and financial management in higher education institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic as a strategic mechanism for improving the efficiency of their activities. The main aspects of financial autonomy are analyzed, including changes in financial management, responsibility for budgeting and the mechanism for attracting additional funds.
