Abstract
In this article, the current administrative-territorial structure of Kyrgyzstan and the legal basis for its reform are subject to scientific analysis. The historical stages of administrative-territorial reforms in the country and the political and legal conditions that impede their successful implementation are considered. In order to strengthen the legal foundations and ensure the legitimacy of the administrative-territorial reform currently being carried out in the Kyrgyz Republic, based on an analysis of scientific literature on this issue and the legal framework of the country, the author‘s point of view is presented
