Abstract
In the presented material, we examine the work of two talented writers of the twentieth century: Kyrgyz Chingiz Aitmatov and Azerbaijani Anar, who made a huge contribution not only to the culture of their peoples, but also to global culture. Each of them, speaking in literature in the prose genre, enriched the artistic world of readers in their own way. Ch. Aitmatov with such original creations as "Face to Face", "Jamila", "My Poplar to the Red Kerchief", "Early Cranes", "And the Day Lasts Longer than a Century...", "The Scaffold", "Kill - Not Kill... ", "Cassandra Brand" and many others. etc., Anar "The Sixth Floor of a Five-Story Building", "White Port", "Hotel Room", "Dante's Anniversary", "Waiting for the Holiday", "The Rain Stopped", "Dede Korkud", "Without You", "Mountain" Shahids", "White Aries, Black Aries" and many others. Others, with their works, acted as preparers and heralds of the changes taking place in the life of the then Soviet society and deeply realistically depicted the shortcomings and problems of the period of independence. In the works of both writers, attention comes to the foreground to the little man, a personality that is by no means heroic, but to the desire to clarify the relationship of man with time and space, the problems of rural and urban life, and nature. And each of them, depending on the artistic task, solves the problem posed in a very individual and unique way
