Abstract

Water shortage is one of the crux of the conflicts among Central Asian countries. At present, the uneven distribution of water resources in Central Asian countries, the depletion of the Aral Sea, large and inefficient agricultural water consumption, and large amounts of pollutants discharged from production and life have long-term constraints on economic and social development. The water resources crisis reflects the shortcomings of Central Asian countries in their water resources governance capabilities. Looking to the future, Central Asian countries face numerous challenges in water resources governance
