Abstract

The article considers the stories of V.F. Odoevsky "New Year (From the Notes of a Lazy Man)" and "Morning of a Journalist (From the Notes of a Lazy Man)" in the aspects of genre nature analysis, themes and author's image (pseudonym). The methods of cyclization in Odoevsky’s work are noted. The image of the character-sloth, the form of the notes, the similar motifs, the composition, the chronotope and the system of images are studied as well. It concludes that these works belong to the unfinished cycle "The Notes of a Lazy Man"
