Abstract

The article reveals the geopolitical struggle in Central Asia. With the acquisition of independence by the countries of Central Asia, a previously not so noticeable geostrategic problem appears - the geographical isolation of Central Asia. The region lies away from the global political and economic flows. However, the main geopolitical feature of the region and the reason for the interest of world states in it are the richest raw material reserves.Central Asia is a space of competition and rivalry between the great powers, a space that affects their relations as well as the balance of power, thus influencing the international structure that emerged after the Cold War. Geopolitics, of course, provides an explanation for this, since it is "largely determined by the size of the region." In fact, "the great powers must acquire a large landmass in order to influence international chess"
