Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the legacy of the famous Kyrgyz teacher, author of the first scientific dissertation, author of the "Primer for Adults", one of the first Kyrgyz literary critics, critic, writer, playwright, translator Tazabek Samanchin. For many years (in 1950 he was arrested), he worked at the Kyrgyz National University (then the Kyrgyz Pedagogical Institute). The publication reveals the tragic fate of T. Samanchin, unreasonably accused, sentenced to a long prison sentence, as a victim of vulgarizing criticism. It is particularly noted that the deliberately burned unknown edition of the just published book by a talented scientist "Lakaptan romanga" ("From proverb to novel") was not appreciated at the time
