Abstract

The article analyzes the problem of religious extremism and terrorism. The definitions of the concepts of religious extremism and terrorism are given. The main goals of Islamic extremism are identified, as well as what kind of threat it poses to society. One of the main reasons for religious extremism is an incompetent approach to the analysis of processes and situations in the sphere of religion, leading to the complication of relations between the state and the Muslim community and the country. The activities of the Hizb-ut-Tahrir party and the Wahhabi organization and the religious situation in the republic are considered. Practical recommendations for countering religious extremism and terrorism are offered
