Abstract

This article discusses issues in the field of education, one of the first steps of the colonial policy in the Turkestan region after the conquest of the peoples of Central Asia by Russia. The implementation of the education strategy in Turkestan was developed by its first governor-general, K. P. von Kaufmann. He pursued the common interests of the Russian Empire in Central Asia and the safety of Russian settlers
